Scour nine levels across five punishing realms in search of hidden runes, then awaken and slay the mighty jotun using only your trusty axe and the blessings of the old deities of Asgard. When you are on the large icy expanse of the lake, travel East from the main lake to find the shrine along the walls bordering the lake. Find an open entrance for a mine with no mine cart blocking the path, and take it to find the shrine to Loki. Once inside the mines of the forge, look for a region just after the first wave of dwarves. Make your way to the central root and take the elevator to find it on the right side. This shrine is found while sliding down the roots. The Roots of Yggdrasil - Heimdall's Shield You'll find this shrine near the top of the level, with either of the two branching paths leading up to the North. Defeat the giants and earn the rune.God Shrine Locations The Barrow Mound - Frigg's Healing Use the rock throwing giants to create bridges and climb to the island. The rune in this level is located on a central island guarded by fire giants. To find the rune, complete the puzzles to visualize the sacred deer, then take the path through the previously closed gate to the middle island, and summon Hagalaz. The rune here is located beyond a series of lightning puzzles that recreate constellations in the sky. In order to get to the rune you must fight your way past the nest, and break a branch to head ever upward and find the rune on the highest branch. Opposite the Roots of Yggdrasil, this level has you climbing the tree tops to find rune, while defending yourself from a giant eagle. Head north from here to find the rune and summon Isa. Look for a big island and head North to find an island with two giant dragon statues. The rune lies between the many islands that dot the rivers. Avoid it all the way to the end to find the rune. This relatively linear level will have you dodging the giant worm as it breaks through the ice in various areas. The last wave of enemies, located after finding Mimir's well, guards the rune to summon Fe. As you move further through the mine and into the underground city, you'll take on more enemies. Enter the mines to fight hordes of dwarven enemies. The bridge leading to the rune is destroyed, requiring you to find another path. ![]() At the bottom you'll pass the giant dragon, Nidhogg, and find the rune nearby. This Rune is fairly straightforward, as you'll spend the entire level sliding down roots to the very bottom of the great tree. Once this enemy has been defeated, you can enter and fine the rune to summon Jera. In order to open the door to the Barrows, you must locate all three Disr in the level, and return to the Barrow door to fight a Draugr. You'll find this rune deep in the Barrows. ![]()
